Ohio State recruiting: Gabe Megginson talks about offers, as well as decision timetable. Gabe Megginson, offensive lineman, has decided to discuss his offer from Ohio State, as well as the Buckeyes interest.
Ohio State extended a scholarship offer to Megginson, who holds scholarship offers from just about every single school in the Big Ten. One of the schools include Wisconsin, which appears to be the team to defeat at the moment. The other schools include Michigan State, the Buckeyes and Penn State.
The offer from the Buckeyes came recently, when he was asked to contact Chis Ash, Ohio State's co-defensive coordinator, and also his main recruiter.
Megginson said that when he called Ash, he was made the offer. He said that he was excited to receive the offer because it is from one of the top schools in the country, and at this point in his recruitment he is interested in the Buckeyes.
Megginson said that he is very interested, and that he loves the coaches, the success, the facilities, as well as the swagger that the team brings to the field. He has already made his way to Columbus at least once, and he participated in the school's Friday Night Lights Camp, which is held every July. He plans on visiting again soon.
Megginson said that he learnt a lot from the coaches, and that the intensity that they showed was great. He also said that he will probably make his final decision in May, but as of now no school stands out. However he did say that he plans on making an early college decision.
As of now it seems that the Buckeyes will be the real player in trying to recruit the offensive lineman. I think Wisconsin has a good chance at landing his commitment, but all it takes is just one more visit to Ohio State, and things can change in a heartbeat. Only time will tell who ends up recruiting Megginson.
