Temple Transfer Lee Selects OSU

Anthony Lee

Thad Matta and the Ohio State basketball team lost one player to the NBA draft but picked up one from a transfer. On the same weekend that LaQuinton Ross decided to enter the NBA draft instead of playing his senior season at  Ohio State, the Buckeyes got a commitment from Temple transfer Anthony Lee. Lee is a 6’ 9” forward that could play along side Amir Williams in the post or replace Williams at times during the 2014-2015 upcoming season. A center at Temple, Lee selected the Buckeyes after a two day visit to the campus.

Lee select Ohio State over a number of other programs including Louisville, Indiana, and Iowa State. He will be able to play right away for the Buckeyes with NCAA graduate transfer rules. Reporters in the Temple area report that he is a quality player that is athletic, can score, rebound, and is productive on both sides of the ball. Last year he averaged almost 9 rebounds a game and 13.6 points. The one flaw that he might have are his hands in pick-and-roll situations, sounds a lot like Williams.

Ohio State is also bringing in a top quality recruiting class so the future looks bright for a team that struggled this past season more than any time during Matta’s tenure.
