Justin Hilliard Visits The Ohio State University

Cincinnati St Xavier linebacker Justin Hilliard paid another visit to Ohio State University recently to evaluate its football program.

The 6' 2", 230-pound player is also considering offers from more than a dozen other schools, including Florida State, Georgia, Michigan State, Clemson, Alabama and Notre Dame.

As an outside linebacker, Hilliard is ranged #1 by 247Sports and ESPN. Rivals has him ranked #1 as an inside linebacker and Scout places him fourth in its rankings.

Hilliard plans a longer visit in the near future but this one went well. He plans to release a top five list soon and many expect Ohio State University to be on his list. Other possibilities include Alabama, Michigan, Notre Dame and Iowa, where his brother will be a freshman.

Senior Curtis Grant will be leaving but the Buckeyes have six freshman linebackers lined up for 2014. It is unlikely they will recruit four linebackers like they have for the past two seasons, but three is likely. Their other two top prospects are Jerome Baker from Cleveland, OH and Sh'mar Kilby-Lane from Hallandale, FL.

The Buckeyes will be using their new walk-out linebacker slot and Baker is suited for that position. Kilby-Lane and Hilliard seem to be better options for the remaining two slots but it is difficult to predict at this time which player will end up in which position.

Baker is ranked #3 among all athletes in 247Sports' Composite ranking while Kilby-Lane is eighth among outside linebackers according to 247Sports. Hilliard is a wildcard and is likely to be one for some time to come.
