Ohio State Might Get 4 Star Receiver Jake Smith

JakeSmithNotreDame

Coach Urban Meyer and his excellent staff have put their name in the hat for a chance for four star wide receiver Jake Smith out of Notre Dame Preparatory School (AZ).

Smith is a future conference leader and a sought after commodity for many schools. The junior has over twenty offers from schools like Alabama, California, Wisconsin, Notre Dame, and now Ohio State. He caught many scout's eyes with his 2000 yard season. He had 33 catches for one thousand and fifty five yards and ran for another eleven hundred and thirty five yards. Altogether he amassed 26 touchdowns and almost won a state championship for his Saints team.

WR Kamryn Babb Committed to Ohio State

KamrynBabb

Once again proving why he is one of the best coaches in the nation right now, if not of all time, Urban Meyer got another huge boost when Kamryn Babb committed to Ohio State. This news came in on Tuesday after Babb made an official announcement during a video he posted on Twitter.

Babb was in an interview saying that Coach Meyer's dedication to him was a big part of his decision to commit. This was in reference to his season-ending knee injury last season. This along with what he stated was a "family environment" were major factors in his decision.

It is clear that this young man is especially excited to play for Coach Meyer and receivers coach Zach Smith. He should help solidify the receiving corps for the next few years. The four star ranked prospect even turned down scholarships from other big name schools like Michigan, Notre Dame, Missouri, UCLA, and USC.

5-star DE Brenton Cox Won't Commit To OSU

BrentonCox

The top-ranked 2018 OSU recruiting class took a huge hit when DE Brenton Cox announced that he won't be playing with the Buckeyes. He apparently Tweeted out the end of his commitment after a visit to Alabama. This leaves OSU without a single DE in their recruiting class.

Cox was supposed to visit the OSU campus later in the month. He would have been eligible to sign during the early signing period that starts on December 20. It's now unclear whether Brenton Cox will even make the visit at all.

Senior defensive ends Jalyn Holmes and Tyquan Lewis are set to graduate, which means that the Buckeyes won't really have much in the way of scholarship defensive ends. Fourth-year junior Sam Hubbard could have left during the 2016 season, but he decided to stay in school for another year. He'll more than likely declare for the NFL draft in 2018.

Courtney Ramey Slated For Louisville Is Courted By Buckeye

CourtneyRamey

In hopes to add to the 2018 roster, Ohio State is actively recruiting Courtney Ramey. Ramey was previously committed to the Louisville Cardinals. The withdraw of the commitment has urged Chris Holtmann and the coaching staff to begin courting the senior point guard. This news comes just days before the signing of four other top ranked players. It appears that the Ohio State coaching staff is not done adding to the 2018 class.

Ohio State is not alone in the pursuits for the talented Ramey. Other programs pursuing the point guard include Texas, Oklahoma State and Villanova. This means that the Buckeyes are far from an automatic shoe in as the choice for Ramey. However, the coaching staff is hopeful as his 6'3" frame fits perfectly in the team that they are building for 2018.

Duane Washington Commits To Ohio State

duanewashington

Duane Washington, three-star point guard for the Sierra Canyon basketball team outside of Los Angeles California, has accepted the offer to play for Ohio State University. Washington grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan before coming to play in California, and he recently visited Ohio State this past month after receiving an offer from the Buckeyes. He is considered the 55th best point guard in the country and the 289th best overall prospect.

This news came after a tense month where Buckeyes coach Chris Holtmann had no commitments for the 2018 class and then received two in a matter of days, with Jaedon LeDee, four-star forward of Kinkaid School, also committing to Ohio State. Washington was also looking at Oregon, Michigan and UCLA.

He played summer basketball for the Nike AAU The Family team from Detroit. There, he averaged almost 15 points per game while shooting 46% from outside the arc.

Antwuan Jackson Recalls Transfer Woes

AntwuanJackson

JUCO Target Talks About Transfer, Another Opportunity to Make the Correct Decision

Just over seven days ago, the Buckeyes made a scholarship offer to Antwuan Jackson, the defensive tackle from Blinn Junior College. Jackson was a four star rated prospect, who moved from Auburn after his freshman season as a redshirt.

As was stated at the time, Jackson - who is six foot three inches tall and 305 pounds - gave serious consideration to Ohio State prior to signing with the Tigers. He made a visit officially to the 2015 17/14 defeat to Michigan State. He developed a rapport with Larry Johnson, the defensive line coach at that time. This is why Auburn prevented a potential transfer to the Buckeyes --- along with other SEC programs (including Georgia Southern, Mercer and Clemson) --- once he declared his intention to depart the program in May.

Dane Goodwin Decommits From Ohio State

DaneGoodwin

Dane Goodwin, who had previously committed to play for the Ohio State Buckeyes when he was a freshman in high school, has now de-committed from the Ohio State team. His decision now effectively leaves Ohio State's 2018 recruiting class with no firm prospects.

Goodwin, a four-star shooting guard and Columbus native, is the No. 75 overall prospect for his class year, according to composite rankings. He is also Ohio's fourth-rated recruit. However, 270hoops.com reports that Ohio State may still remain an option for Goodwin, who first committed to the Buckeyes in December 2014. Notre Dame is also pursuing the Upper Arlington Ohio recruit.

There Is Balance In The Buckeyes As Master Teague III Joins The Force

MasterTeagueIII

The Buckeyes are now counting on Master Teague III to help carry them to victory in 2018. It's a huge responsibility for the young Tennessee running back, but it was no secret that Master Teague III wanted to go to Ohio State University all along.

His wish became self-fulfilling on Friday during the OSU camp. That's why the Master Teague III Twitter account literally lit up with a video about his landmark decision. It's a huge challenge, says Master Teague III, but the die is cast.

No one could be more dramatic or flamboyant than the Murfreesboro, Tennessee speedster himself who showered his Twitter followers with the Master Teague III morphing into his past, present, and future play shirts. The message was clear.

So at this point, there's no turning back for Master Teague III, who stands 5' 11" and weighs 210 pounds. He really owned it during the one-day summer camp. With that brand of razzle-dazzle performance, nobody doubts that his sports stats will continue to make the climb.

WR Mark Richards Never Had It So Good

MarkRichards

Maybe this is as good as it gets for WR Mark Richards, who had been serenaded last week by offers from the Big Five led by Ohio State University. If WR Mark Richards were a girl, he would have walked on a red carpet of rose petals. That's how intense the courtship was as Ohio State went on a recruiting offensive for the football season.

If WR Mark Richards bites the bait planted for him, he may be in for more. But as it is right now, the 4-star 2019 class member appears to be playing hard to get and enjoying Ohio's courtship dance in an almost noncommittal fashion.

It's a great strategy for WR Mark Richards because it seems to be working. The Buckeyes negotiators just might have to put more on the table. After all, the brother of wide out Ahmmon Richards could swing the Hurricanes way.

Josh Proctor Joins Ohio State

Josh Proctor

Josh Proctor, the Four Star Safety, Declares Commitment to the Buckeyes

Ohio State just received a commitment from Josh Proctor, the 'Sooner State' standout safety from Okla...

Proctor, who weighs 185 pounds and is six foot two inches tall, made this announcement on Saturday. He was also contemplating offers from schools such as Texas and Oklahoma in the Big Twelve area.

Proctor believes that it might surprise many in his locality that he will play away from home. In an interview, he said that - because people know where he grew up and his relatives played in OU - they expect him to follow suit.

However, he feels that he has a good rapport with the Ohio State coaches, and therefore will be able to perform well for them.
