Mike Weber Commits To The Buckeyes

One of the top rated running backs in the country selects Ohio State over Michigan. Mike Weber from Cass Technical committed to Urban Meyer and the Buckeyes over offers from Alabama, Miami (FL), Michigan State, Notre Dame, USC and Wisconsin. Cass Tech has been more of a pipeline to Michigan schools but now Urban Meyer has pulled top rated players from the school two years in a row. Last year he got cornerback Damon Webb, the 2nd best player in Michigan. This year there is Mike Weber and defensive lineman Joshua Alabi. And there are a number of 2016 and 2017 recruits from the school that are considering the Buckeyes.

Weber was committed to Michigan before Brady Hoke was released from the program. During a loss to Maryland in November, he changed his mind about becoming a Wolverine. Scout.com considers him the 11 best running back in the country this year and the 69th prospect overall. He will participate in the Army All American Bowl on January 4th which airs on ABC.

He is a compact 5’9” 210lbs back with good patience. Great burst and acceleration with the ability to catch the ball out of the backfield. He will be taking an official visit to Ohio State this week. Urban Meyer and Kerry Combs visited him at his school on Monday before he gave his verbal commit.
