Jaquan Lyle Commits to OSU on Visit

Jaquan Lyle

Last night the Buckeyes not only beat Maryland at home but also picked up a commitment from 2015 shooting guard Jaquan Lyle. The 6-5 guard from Huntington West Virginia is considered the 8th best shooting guard in the country for the class. He was set to join Oregon last season but was unable to due to academic troubles. He has been at the IMG Academy in Florida looking to join a college program this year.

Lyle is a great perimeter player who can score from anywhere on the floor, rebound well, and pass. He needs to work on focus, conditioning and defense, according to scouting reports. He had also been interested in Missouri and LSU before going with Ohio State during his visit yesterday. He rounds out a class of five for Thad Matta that is ranked 11th in the country.

He comes at a good time as DAngelo Russell gains NBA interest every game that he plays for Ohio State. Lyle can step in next season and hopefully replace the production that OSU might lose to the next level.
