Amir Riep Signs With the Buckeyes

Amir Riep

Amir Riep has made a decision about his career and his future. He has decided that he will play football for Ohio State. The decision was primarily so that he could stay home by his family.

Urban Meyer is feeling mighty proud right now because it appears that he has landed himself another prize player and top target.

Riep told the news that he picked Ohio State for two reasons. He said he picked them because of their academics and because he could truly see himself fitting in with the rest of the crowd. He said that he would most likely take up the sports medicine curriculum.

Riep was a hot commodity who received offers from more than 50 universities. He received scholarship offers from huge names such as Notre Dame, Michigan, Oregon, Florida and Georgia. He finally decided to stay home and work on his career there.

Obviously, football played a role in Riep's decision, as well. Riep said that he felt the football coaches would help prepare him and that the players would push him to be a better player.

Riep also stated that his decision had something to do with Kerry Coombs, the cornerbacks coach for the team.

Riep said that he had built a close relationship with Coombs and talked to him a lot. He valued the friendship.

Riep made the announcement at Colerain High School to a group of friends. Ohio State had Riep on its radar for years, and he finally signed on with them.
