Curtis Samuel Signs With Ohio State Football Team
On August 16th, Brooklyn's Hall Dutchmen Football team's famous five-star athlete, Curtis Samuel, made the commitment to play with the Ohio State Football Team. When he signed on, Samuel, 6 feet and 186 pounds, clearly indicated that he intends to continue playing in Columbus for the next year. The announcement came while Danny Landberg, the Erasmus Hall coach, met with Ohio State coaches.
After leading the Dutchmen to their first Private School Athletic League (PSAL) city championship last December, Samuel became the reigning Daily News high school player. He chose Ohio State over many elite programs like Rutgers, Miami (FL), Notre Dame and Alabama. Out of 247 composite rankings he rates as New York's second best and 118th in the entire country. Samuel's speed and big-play ability makes him a stand out. Urban Meyer, Ohio State Football Team's head coach, rumor has it, personally hand picked Samuel, seeing the potential to utilize him in the same manner that Percy Harvin benefited the Florida Gators when Meyer was there.
