Eric Glover-Williams Commits To Ohio State Football

Ohio State Football got its first commitment for 2015 when Eric Glover-Williams announced his intentions on Sunday. Glover-Williams has played just two seasons at Canton McKinley High School, but the two-sport standout has already committed to play for Ohio State in 2015.

Glover-Williams was a much-discussed recruit, thanks to his quickness and athleticism. He boasts a 4.5 second 40-yard dash. In 2012, he went 75-of-154. This included passing for 1,114 yards and scrambling for 1,810. He scored 34 touchdowns for McKinley as a sophomore starter.

This caught the eye of many college football coaches, who saw promise in his ability to make explosive plays. He also runs with a quickness that few defenders can stop. Before deciding to play for Urban Meyer and the Ohio State Buckeyes, Glover-Williams received a dozen other scholarship offers from schools across the country. Ohio State won out over Arkansas, Kentucky and Tennessee from the SEC and fellow Big Ten schools that included Illinois, Michigan State and Nebraska.

Glover-Williams pairs speed and agility with an outstanding ability to play where he is needed. Recruited primarily as a receiver, he's also been ranked as a running back and a cornerback. Perhaps most shockingly of all, he plays quarterback for his high school team. In addition, he plays also pitches and plays several different defensive positions for the McKinley baseball team.

By securing a highly sought-after recruit like Glover-Williams, the Ohio State Football program puts itself in a good position to receive commitments from other members of the 2015 class in the coming months. Others who have been offered scholarships by the Buckeyes include defensive lineman Darian Roseboro, wide receiver Preston Williams, offensive lineman Chuma Edoga and defensive back Maurice Smitherman.
