Ronnie Hickman Commits To Ohio State

Ronnie "Rocket" Hickman is set to dazzle the Buckeyes 2019 recruitment class. With Ohio State getting a commitment pledge from the 6-foot, 200 pounder on Friday, the Rocket will bring much needed offense and defense to the team. Hickman is also a member of a class totaling four members now -- joining 4-star Doug Nester, lineman. The squad will also include RB Sampson James, along with 3 star lineman Ryan Jacoby.

The class is currently rated the 21st best in the nation, as well as the 5th best in the conference, the Big Ten. The commitment, however, was not easy for Ronnie "Rocket" Hickman. In fact, he was touted by Penn State, Michigan, Ole Miss, Virginia Tech, Notre Dame and others. As a product of DePaul Catholic, Hickman was rated an all-star athlete -- playing both defensive back and wide receiver. In his junior year, he amassed 809 yards receiving with ten touchdowns. He also had 47 tackles, two interceptions and was 2nd in yards at 945.

According to the Buckeyes, they needed to jump on this opportunity to sign Hickman. It is not known -- at the moment -- whether Hickman will play offense or defense. However, the team believes in his impeccable skills and Ohio State is anxiously awaiting the arrival of the Rocket.

Hickman may play safety in the fall when he arrives in Columbus. However, there is already talk among the Buckeyes of him becoming a linebacker with a strong workout regime in college. Still, the team is looking to enhance their defensive squad -- especially after missing out on Jaiden Woodbey this year. Hickman has visited the campus several times, while familiarizing himself with the Buckeyes protocol. With the commitment now set in stone, Ohio State does not have to worry about the Rocket heading elsewhere.
