Alonzo Gaffney decided to stay close to home when he attends college, which should be welcome news for fans who hoped that the forward would play for a college in his home state.
Chris Holtmann said that he was going to lock down Ohio's state borders as soon as he took the OSU head coaching job. He made his first big accomplishment toward achieving this goal when the five-star forward agreed to commit.
Since he can play multiple positions, Alonzo Gaffney has a great deal to offer OSU. His stock started to really climb in July, and many ranked him near the 18th prospect in their charts for this recruiting class.
Originally, Gaffney looked at Michigan State and Georgetown before he decided to take his talents to Columbus (like LeBron going to Miami).
Expectations will be high for the rest of 2019's recruitment season since Gaffney is the first to commit to the Buckeyes.
