Recruited by quarterbacks coach Corey Dennis, Ewers in the the top prospect nationally and in Texas for the year, playing at an upper echelon program. Schools involved in trying to secure a commitment from Ewers included Texas, Alabama, Auburn and others. Ewers has a pro-style quarterback with the mobility to be a dual threat. He is able to change his arm angle and deliver accurate passes on the run without an issue. Some compare him to Drew Lock.
