Offensive lineman Avery Henry From the Red Devils in Saint Clairsville, Ohio committed to play for Ohio State 2022. Henry is a 6'7" 305 lbs. lineman who lost 65 pounds this past year to get into better shape. Henry is a 3 Star recruit, the 122nd Offensive Tackle and the 42nd best overall recruit in Ohio for 2022. Many are comparing him to Ohio State lineman Dawand Jones who came underrated to OSU but developed into a really good lineman over three years. Henry will play tackle in the future for the Buckeyes. Ohio State line coach Greg Studrawa visited Saint Clairsville to see Henry play Wheeling Central Catholic and gave an offer after the weekend. Avery Henry Visits Henry visited Iowa State on June 11th. He was committed to the Iowa State Cyclones prior to the OSU offer this Fall. He stated that he wanted to play closer to home prior to receiving the Akron and Ohio State offers. He made an unofficial visit to Columbus Ohio prior to committing to the Buckeyes. Avery Henry Offers Henry had 6 scholarship offers including Akron, Iowa State, Eastern Michigan, Syracuse, Ohio State and West Virginia. Members of his family had played for the Mountaineers so some felt that was the natural destination. Crystal Ball Prediction Allen Trieu on October 18th predicted with high confidence that he would select the Buckeyes after he completed the Columbus Ohio visit. Scouting Report Henry is a good athlete that dropped weight this past year and played basketball for his high school. First Team All Ohio in 2020 and 2019. Ohio State 2022 Class The Ohio State 2022 class is now rated the 4th best in the country with 16 recruits. Henry follows George Fitzpatrick and Lakota West star Tegra Tshabola as offensive lineman in the class. Ohio State could add two more lineman to the class before they are finished.
