Kiyaunta Goodwin is a Rivals 100 offensive tackle that has helped Kentucky achieve a top 10 ranked recruiting class for 2022. This could be the best class for the school in over a decade. Goodwin is 6’8” 305lbs who can move with some heavy hands and a muscular build. Considered the best prospect in Indiana and the 2nd best offensive tackle nationally in the class. A lot were hoping to grab the incoming college football player who many think could start as soon as he gets campus. The Goodwin DecisionHe made the decision April 17th 2020 on the CBS Sports HQ show. He was looking at Ohio State, Alabama, Clemson, Michigan State, and Kentucky at the time. He had over 40 scholarship offers before reducing his list down to five prior to his final decision. Visits to College CampusesGoodwin made the decision without taking any visits, Ohio State had hoped he would wait for a June visit but that did not happen. The dead period was extended for college visits because of the COVID 19 pandemic but lifted two days before his decision date. He still kept the date and made the decision prior to making official visits. Goodwin is still open to taking official visits by all reports, so a summer visit could flip his choice from the Wildcats to the Buckeyes many fans are hoping. Of course other schools like Michigan State and Mel Tucker are hoping to do the same when Goodwin visits East Lansing. Kentucky 2022Wildcat head coach Mark Stoops has done a good job with the 2022 class and Kentucky was able to keep head recruiter Vince Marrow even though Steve Clinkscale moved to Ann Arbor to help out the Michigan Wolverines. A number of other top recruits are also headed to Kentucky demonstrating the coaching staff’s ability to pull in top tier players. Kiyaunta Goodwin Announcement |
