Ohio State got another great athlete for their 2022 class at the beginning of May with the commitment of Kye Stokes from Seffner Florida. Recruited by Tony Alford and Matt Barnes, the 4 star athlete is considered the 36th best in the country at his position. Many predicted that his star rating would rise from 3 to 4 stars and that has now officially happened. We had 30 scholarship offers including offers from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Notre Dame and Auburn. What Stokes Picked Ohio StateStoke’s family felt comfortable with the Buckeye coaching staff from the start with Alford contacting them before speaking with their son. He promised to take a second look at his junior film and call back on Monday, and that’s what he did. The track athlete played wide receiver, corner back and safety for Armood High School outside of Tampa. The fast defensive back is versatile and can get to the ball quickly which was easily seen in his tape from last season. He had five interceptions as a junior with 34 tackles. What caught the eye of many recruiting coaches was a 10.80 second 100 yard dash run in the Spring. Stokes has a 4.9 GPAAs good as the 6’2” 185 lbs. Stockes is on the football field, in the classroom he is also outstanding. He currently holds a 4.9 GPA, leading to scholarship offers from a number of high academic schools. The 2022 Ohio State ClassCurrently ranked as the best overall class in the country, Ohio State has 14 players already pledged to play for them next Fall. At the safety position in the class of 2022, Ohio State is looking to add one or two more. Names that could be included are Xavier Nwankpa and/or Zion Branch.
