Kye Stokes Moves up the Ranking Board to Four Stars
Ohio State got another great athlete for their 2022 class at the beginning of May with the commitment of Kye Stokes from Seffner Florida. Recruited by Tony Alford and Matt Barnes, the 4 star athlete is considered the 36th best in the country at his position. Many predicted that his star rating would rise from 3 to 4 stars and that has now officially happened. We had 30 scholarship offers including offers from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Notre Dame and Auburn.
What Stokes Picked Ohio State
Stoke’s family felt comfortable with the Buckeye coaching staff from the start with Alford contacting them before speaking with their son. He promised to take a second look at his junior film and call back on Monday, and that’s what he did.
The track athlete played wide receiver, corner back and safety for Armood High School outside of Tampa. The fast defensive back is versatile and can get to the ball quickly which was easily seen in his tape from last season. He had five interceptions as a junior with 34 tackles. What caught the eye of many recruiting coaches was a 10.80 second 100 yard dash run in the Spring.
Stokes has a 4.9 GPA
As good as the 6’2” 185 lbs. Stockes is on the football field, in the classroom he is also outstanding. He currently holds a 4.9 GPA, leading to scholarship offers from a number of high academic schools.

Kiyaunta Goodwin Committed to Kentucky over Ohio State
Kiyaunta Goodwin is a Rivals 100 offensive tackle that has helped Kentucky achieve a top 10 ranked recruiting class for 2022. This could be the best class for the school in over a decade.
Goodwin is 6’8” 305lbs who can move with some heavy hands and a muscular build. Considered the best prospect in Indiana and the 2nd best offensive tackle nationally in the class. A lot were hoping to grab the incoming college football player who many think could start as soon as he gets campus.
The Goodwin Decision
He made the decision April 17th 2020 on the CBS Sports HQ show. He was looking at Ohio State, Alabama, Clemson, Michigan State, and Kentucky at the time. He had over 40 scholarship offers before reducing his list down to five prior to his final decision.
Visits to College Campuses
Goodwin made the decision without taking any visits, Ohio State had hoped he would wait for a June visit but that did not happen. The dead period was extended for college visits because of the COVID 19 pandemic but lifted two days before his decision date. He still kept the date and made the decision prior to making official visits.
Goodwin is still open to taking official visits by all reports, so a summer visit could flip his choice from the Wildcats to the Buckeyes many fans are hoping. Of course other schools like Michigan State and Mel Tucker are hoping to do the same when Goodwin visits East Lansing.

2022 Linebacker Dasan McCullough Follows Father to Indiana
Dasan McCullough flipped his commitment to Indiana from Ohio State in late April. A lot of the decision has to do with his father changing jobs from being an assistant with the Kansas City Chiefs to coaching at Indiana along side Tom Allen.
Wants to play with his brothers and for his father who is now coaching with the Hoosiers. His younger brother, Daeh McCullought (2023), committed to play in Bloomington. His older brother, Deland, also made a move back to Indiana by transferring from Miami (OH) to Indiana.
Dasan has stated that he was not pressured to switch from Ohio State as he was set prior to his brothers and his father all landing there.
He is a four star recruit who committed to OSU in August. Considered the 50th best player nationally.
Indiana has been a roll lately, finishing in the top 15 last season and going to multiple bowl games that last two years. At this time they only have 2 recruits in the 2022 class. They have some work to do to get a class that will keep the team moving forward.
INDIANA REALLY JUST POACHED OHIO STATE!!

Ohio State 2022 Quarterback Quinn Ewers from Southlake Carroll Texas
Ohio State has the best quarterback in the country coming to campus in 2022 in Southlake Carroll Texas prospect Quinn Ewers. Recruited by quarterbacks coach Corey Dennis, Ewers in the the top prospect nationally and in Texas for the year, playing at an upper echelon program. Schools involved in trying to secure a commitment from Ewers included Texas, Alabama, Auburn and others. He was on his way to the Texas Longhorns before the program began to have some problems, and coaching changes, that led him to change his pledge.
Ewers has a pro-style quarterback with the mobility to be a dual threat. He is able to change his arm angle and deliver accurate passes on the run without an issue. Some compare him to Drew Lock.
Ryan Day Develops Quarterbacks
Ryan Day has had great success developing quarterbacks at Ohio State and is known as a coach that develops NFL caliber signal callers. He should have three quarterbacks drafted in the first round of the NFL draft when Justin Fields is drafted this year. Two years ago he had Dwayne Haskins Jr picked 15th overall. And OSU transfer Joe Burrow has selected last year with the first pick overall by the Cincinnati Bengals.
Quarterbacks at Ohio State
Ohio State is building one loaded quarterback room with 5 star recruits three years in a row. CJ Stroud and Jack Miller will compete for the starting job next year. Then Kyle McCord will have a year to develop before he battles Ewers for the starting job. Only more impressive than the quarterback room is the wide receiver room with top national talent committing three years in a row with names like Garrett Wilson, Julian Fleming, Jaxon Smith-Njibga, and Emeka Egbuka.

Wide Receiver Caleb Burton From Del Valle Texas
Wide receiver Caleb Burton III from Del Valle Texas committed to be a member of Ohio State’s 2022 recruiting class Monday. Burton is considered the 2nd best receiver in the country for the 2022 cycle and the 15th best overall prospect. He was recruited by Buckeye coach Brian Hartline and joins Southlake Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers as the 2nd 5 star recruit to commit to Ohio State in the last 4 days.
Why Burton Selected Ohio State
The 6’ 165 lbs. receiver was looking at Georgia, LSU, Oklahoma, Alabama, Texas, Florida, and Ohio State. He had a great relationship with OSU recruiter and wide receiver’s coach Brian Hartline leading him to make the move this week. It also did not hurt that Ohio State has had great success with recent wide receivers going to the NFL. Finally Burton mentioned when committing that he has had a relationship with Ewers, saw him play in the state playoffs in Texas, and wants to be a part of the team that has Ewers throwing the ball.
Other friends that Burton has on the team include Texas high school wide receivers Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Garrett Wilson. He has watches both players this season at Ohio State and is impressed with their development.
Burton’s dad, Charles Burton, grew up in Texas and left to play college ball at Syracuse, so leaving the state has not been an issue for Burton.

Zen Michalski Floyd Knobs 2021 Offensive Tackle
Zen Michalski is the most recent commit for Ohio State’s 2021 football recruiting class. Currently ranked the 2nd best class in the country behind Alabama, OSU’s newest class of players features Michalski, Donovan Jackson and Ben Christman on the offensive line. Michalski is a 6’6” 288 lbs. offensive tackle out of Floyd Central in Floyds Knobs Indiana. A four star recruit, he is considered the 33rd best OT in the country and the 3rd best overall prospect in Indiana. He had 24 scholarship offers including ones from Bowling Green, Boston College, Ball State and Louisville.
Visits and the Recruitment of Zen Michalski
Michalski was recruited by Greg Studrawa for Ohio State but also spoke with Coach Day daily before deciding. The current pandemic made recruiting for Michalski a little bit of an adventure. He committed to Louisville in April. The only official visit for Michalski was to Indiana State, his first offer. Ohio State offered him a scholarship based solely on film that they obtained of his game performances. The film demonstrates that he has grown into the tackle position after being a small tight-end the year before.
The feeling is that he has great potential, good feet and a big frame. He knows that he might have to wait a year to get on the field but he is fine with taking time to develop into a top tier lineman.

Blake Miller Strongsville Ohio Offensive Tackle
Blake Miller needs no introduction, but he's a four-star offensive lineman for those who don't know him. Regarding the 2022 cycle, he's ranked at 23 when it comes to offensive tackles in the country and favored to play at Ohio State at the next level. Everything about Miller is a process, that's from his recruitment to the lineman’s progression. His father is a high school cross country runner, and he introduced Miller to the gym at an early age of 8 years old. Since then, the gym became a consistent hobby.
Blake Miller’s attributes
At Strongsville, at only 16 years old, Miller holds the title of being the team's strongest guy. Miller is big and powerful, and his main focus is blocking the space. He's not that fast or quick, but he's almost there. That's why if you keen on his game if he doesn't have the ball that quickly, he gets his hand on the defensive linemen or locks the linebackers in the open field.
Visits and scholarship
At the moment, Miller is high on the Buckeye's scholarship offer. He has already made three visits to colleges that's Michigan, Clemson and Penn State. The quickening pace of recruitment has caught him by surprise. Recently he had offers from Toledo, Indians, Iowa State, Bowing Green, and many others, but the offer from Ohio State will be a game-changer.
Miller has a scheduled visit with Clemson offensive line coach Robbie Caldwell. He also talks to him once to thrice a month. This means that he is serious about his football career, he wants to improve daily, and with the help of Coach Robbie Caldwell, the sky is not the limit.
As per his calendar, he intends to visit the other two colleges high on his offer list, that's LSU and Tennessee. He describes them as the "up-and-comer" that have offered him scholarships this year, and he's open with other scholarships.
